Time & The Unimportance of Nearly Everything
Happy Thursday! We continue our discussion of "Deep Work Time" during this beautiful snowy morning.
“You cannot overestimate the unimportance of practically everything.” from Essentialism (Greg McKeown)
While this quote could be easily misappropriated, the reality is when we break down our use of time, we typically derive the greatest value from a few important tasks. In The One Thing (and one the best podcasts we shared last year = here) Gary Keller goes so far as to say there typically is just "One Thing" that impacts all other things. The trick is developing that one-thing.
"To-do lists tend to be long; success lists are short. One pulls you in all directions; the other aims you in a specific direction." from The One Thing
Backpack Planning & The 4Ps of Clarity = The One Thing that will strengthen our Collaboration
A major part of our work as leaders is developing processes that ensure clarity, focus, & direction. As we begin to co-design Backpack Plans with our teams in the weeks ahead for March, April, & May we will continue to deepen the conversation about 'The One-Thing" and our use of time.
How does Backpack Planning strengthen and expose the 4Ps of clarity?
